It's only when things go awry and the immune system is not functioning properly that our bodies end up in trouble. Following my surgery for uterine leiomyosarcoma, I did not have chemo or radiation. Instead I radically changed the environment in my mind and body, allowing my body to heal itself. You can do it, too!Jeanniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08433621155920873539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464301665723274408.post-27726113292481173312014-06-10T17:20:20.693-07:002014-06-10T17:20:20.693-07:00I am newly diagnosed with LMS. I reviewed their letter to the doctor. They confirmed that chemo and radiation would not be of benefit, merely palliative. I personally was glad, because long, long ago I had noticed that chemo seemed to fail in the long-term. Of course, I fully support anyone else who feels that it is the right thing for them to do!!

Dr. Lodi at Oasis of Healing is one doctor that does IPT. Normally chemo is done to shrink a tumor, and at best it will shrink a tumor enough so that surgery can remove it. I have no evidence of disease, and although I know that microscopic cancer cells are present, I believe that my body can prevent them from establishing themselves again if I am willing to follow a lifestyle of healing. For me,it is an absolute pleasure do follow this lifestyle. I stay away from anything that will compromise my immune system, it's just counter-intuitive for me.

I did a lot of research on the computer looking at medical journal articles and published results of the current treatments and their long-term outcomes. That helped empower me to know that what I have chosen is the best for me.

Again, I wish you the very best. I will definitely get Georgette Heyer's books! I incorporate reading as one of my healing activities. I love to download audio books and listen to them while I walk on my hiking trail, which we call the "healing trail."

I will message you on Facebook and send you my e-mail address so we can carry on personal conversations there.

Lots of love, and healing energy!
JeannieJeanniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08433621155920873539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464301665723274408.post-69180110799573970582011-03-17T11:37:02.248-07:002011-03-17T11:37:02.248-07:00Thank you so much, Jeannie! I belong to Kaiser Permanente, so I'm not sure if they offer that therapy but will mention it to my doctor.

I read your blog bio and saw that you are a Jane Austin fan - my daughter and I both love Jane Austin. Have you ever read any of Georgette Heyer's books? If not, you may want to - we really enjoy her Regency and Georgian books, which have great characters and a good amount of humor. Of course, they aren't quite as well written as Austin's books - no one is as great as Jane Austin :-)

Enjoy!!

--LindaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464301665723274408.post-26418528008823122452011-03-15T21:03:12.429-07:002011-03-15T21:03:12.429-07:00Blessings to you, Linda. If there is no evidence of disease at this time, it may be to your advantage to investigate Insulin Potentiation Therapy - an alternative form of chemotherapy that is much gentler and is not supposed to suppress your own immune system in the process. Use the link at the end of my Mind and Body blog to find guided imagery specifically for chemotherapy if you choose to do it. I am sooo happy to have found your wonderfu...Hello,
I am sooo happy to have found your wonderful blog and facebook sites! I was recently diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma and like you, could only find the most hopeless and depressing sites online! It is so refreshing to find someone who is also facing LMS who is so positive, hopeful and uplifting as you. I am convinced that your approach is the best possible advice. It is imperative to stay focused on life, on the positive and to choose hope - our minds are incredible machines that we can program to cure ourselves. And, the importance of exercise, supplements, ample sleep and good nutrition, with a focus on vegetables and more vegetables, can't be emphasized enough!

After a surgery in November of last year to remove a soccer ball sized fibroid initially thought to be benign and then sent to Stanford University for testing and discovered to be LMS, I subsequently had a 2nd surgery last month to remove a small mass near my kidney. I am now cancer free but will be undergoing chemo therapy soon. Any suggestions you can make re: getting through that more easily would be much appreciated.

Interestingly, I also went to OHI a few years ago - not for LMS, but for weight loss and general health and wish I had stuck with the diet plans and other routines they encouraged and probably wouldn't be facing LMS today at all! I am now incorporating a lot of the lessons I learned at OHI into my daily routine as well as doing meditation. Are you familiar with Abraham Hicks? I love their "Getting Into The Vortex: Guided Meditations CD and User Guide", which I just started a few weeks ago - it's just 15 minutes of meditation per day, but what incredible gifts these are! The CD really helps me to destress and to place my focus where it should be: on living and loving my life!

Best wishes to you - and keep your joyful, hopeful blog going - you are doing me and others with LMS so much good!

Hugs and Love -
LindaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2464301665723274408.post-18904758142007931472011-02-06T10:00:38.294-08:002011-02-06T10:00:38.294-08:00Thank you, Tara.
